School Life

As well as working hard, there is time available for play during the school day. Children can arrive at school from 8.50 am onwards where they will have 10 minutes of play before the school bell goes at 9.00 am.
The mid-morning playtime is from 10.15-10.30 am, with two members of staff always on duty.
Lunchtime is from 12.00-1.00 pm. With two sittings, this gives the children the opportunity to have their lunch in the calm environment of the school hall. The first session is Class 1 and Class 4 and children are sat on mixed class tables. This works well, as the older children can assist the younger children with opening lunch boxes and providing positive role models. Once the children have finished from the first sitting, then the children from Class 2 and Class 3 come into the hall. This system enables the children who are outside to have more space and the chance to use the school's playground equipment.
The Key Stage 1 children have an afternoon playtime when they play with large toys to develop gross motor co-ordination and social skills.
As a school community we feel it is important to support others less fortunate than ourselves. Over the past two years the school has raised money for the following charities.
* Marie Curie Cancer Care
* British Heart Foundation
* Jeans For Genes
* Save the Children
* Red Nose Day
* LEPRA
Over £2500 has been raised thanks to the hard work of the children of the school and their parents.
